Datura: the (light and) dark side

One can see why artists through the years have been (and continue to be) so enthralled by the datura (aka Angel Trumpet).

It’s so obviously and blatantly sensual. And if I had processed these images “normally” as opposed to daguerreotype, you’d see how starkly white the blooms appear against the green leafy background.

But where’s the fun in color, when such a powerful effect can be derived from b&w interpretations?

Add a morning spring shower, just enough to give a dewey effect to the smooth white surface, and you’ve got something work shooting, over and over again until you come up with something wonderful.
